There has been a lot of bugs, and i mean critical bugs, found in the game.Funny when you see inside the credits, how many people were there under the 'testing' section.More than 10 people! But then the bugs found inside the game are very critical.
They should have do more Q and A test before publishing this game, hire a more qualified Q and A tester, spend more budget on testing the game!
Bugs Found :
Scenario 3 Mohammad and the Settlers
The game just stuck there after Hannah, one of the two chooseable main character, decided to pro both sides(The Israelites and the Palestine), in a more detailed description, Hannah went to investigate the living style and problems found between the Israelites Settlers and the Palestine living nearby the settlers, then when problem found, Hannah talked to both the Israelites and the Palestine, and during the conversation, Hannah agreed to both sides opinion regarding the problem, for example : While talking to the Israelites (Benjamin), Hannah refused to help him talk to the Civil Officer to help the Israelites take over the land from the Palestine in this matter,(trying to be neutral), also, while talking to the Palestine (Mohammad), Hannah agreed to his opinion and while talking to Leah(Israelites) Hannah pro to the Israelites about the problem they are facing.
Then the game stuck, Hannah cannot do anything anymore in the game, I tried to go one round and talk to everybody in the game, but nothing more can be done, and I tried to call the office using the payphone, but unable to contact the main office.
So the game stuck just after Hannah talked to Leah, offering her opinion saying that the Israelites has the rights, and went to Benjamin and refused to help him to go and talk to the civil officer.Hannah said that she will go and talk to Mohammad, but then Mohammad is nowhere to be found on the map.
I also notice another thing, after talking to Roi, Roi mentioned that Hannah should go and talk to Omri at the Settlers area just in the middle of the map.Since from first scenario to third scenario I always take taxi to travel around, I thought that to go to the settlers area, i will need to get into a cab and go there, but there is no cab that goes to the settler's area!So how the heck am i supposed to go there?
I tried every road end until i found out that the checkpoint where Roi is guarding is able to be walked over.So actually I am able to run all the way to Abu Dis from the checkpoint. But then it is still quite confusing how to get to the settler's area, until i found out how to get there.
Run all the way to Abu dis from Jerusalem checkpoint, on the way you will find a standing message board, immediately turn left(go down), notice that the ground is lighter than the rest, that is supposed to be a path, follow the path until you came across a house ruin, pass over it then you will see garbage containers, pass over then you will reach the settler's area side door.
There is only one entry to the Settler's area and that is through that small door!
By the way, after Omri appeared on the map, I didn't go and meet him immediately, but went to Abu Dis and then i talked to Mohammad instead,I found out that Omri disappeared from the map!
Basically the game just stuck and i have to restart the scenario.
Running around like an idiot
The game designer seems to enjoy seeing the player to run around like an idiot!I don't really like it actually,Whenever i have to do errands for the factions(The Israelites or The Palestine) to gain their trust so i can interview hostile and difficult people from either side better,I have to run around the world like an idiot..!The person i need to talk to will be on the other side of the map, on the corner or very far away, and i have to run there and run back to the person who is giving me the task. Bo-Ring!
However, doing this tasks will make my alignment rise higher.
Bugs found again!
On scenario 4, where Henry died..,After the kidnapping, Hannah went to talk to Roi, then suddenly...,hang, stuck, no options for Hannah to continue or exit the conversation with Roi.
So i have to exit the game forcefully by going out to Windows and close the program.
The gameplay itself is simple, not complex. There is a map where it shows all the people that we can interview, Help for hints and information on how to play, movement and viewing in the game, and Notebook where it contains all the quotes Hannah made during interview.
The quotes are very important. It determines how good you are as a reporter at the end of every scenario where you have to put in your quotes into an article.
While you are making your article, you have to know that the first two, the headline and the photo does not affect your overall score.Only the quotes that will affect your final score. So make sure you get yourself a good quotes that sell!
There are 3 newspapers to choose from, The Israel,Palestine or Global European newspaper.Every newspaper has its own view and wanting different story to publish. So it is up to you to decide. The Israel newspaper wants to hear more about the Israel side, of course, so does the Palestine newspaper wants to hear more about the Palestine's side. While The Global European Newspaper is more to neutral and wants to hear both side of the story.
I think the idea of this game is kinda new and interesting.Being a reporter and interviewing people is always fun.If the game is a little bit more enhanced, i think this game is fun!And furthermore, this game has political views that is quite a sensitive issue. But then we just have to see this as only a game and should not affect ourselves in Real Life.
There is 2 main characters to choose from, a male and a female with different background.
However, the main storyline of this game is nice and surprising.I wont spoil the game so you have to find out for yourselves!
The movement is easy, point and click and the character will run to it.You can choose whatever you want to say during every interview.
The camera can be rotated and zoomed in and out, but i think it is easier to zoom out when moving. Also the camera is slowing up during full zoom, making the character runs faster than the camera moves. It is quite annoying. The speed of the camera should have changed according to the zoom option.
The graphics are quite simple, with really ugly looking female for the main character(Hannah). At first i thought she is a male..,And the modeling of the main character is really sucks(for a main character). The texturing is not so good either for a main character standard. They doesn't seems to put enough time and effort into making the main character.
The audio is simple as well, no vocal voice from the main or NP character, only background sounds of people talking or Muslim prayer calling, but then there is visual effect running.Bombing sound, etc.
Overall I must say that the game is simply made. Not enough.Just not enough. They could have done better than this!Especially with that many people.I believe if only they put more time and effort into this piece then it will make the game even more better. But I also must admit that the idea and storyline is okay.Like i said before, being a reporter is always fun!So why not make it into a game that is really fun and addictive to play?
Make a masterpiece,people!We are waiting!
