This year China participated in The Global Game Jam 2011 event. The Coconut Island Studio in Puxi district, Shanghai, decided to host the event for game developers and fans alike.
The event started from Friday January 28, 2011 to Sunday evening, January 30,2011.
24 people came on the first day and they formed into teams, then most teams decided to work from home rather than on-site. On the day of the presentation, only 5 teams stayed and present their games on-site. The rest submitted their games individually by internet to The Global Game Jam headquarter from home. Amongst these people, there are some people who worked for big game development studios such as Ubisoft and Pop Cap.
