The mini game
The mini game
Inside the Town Hall
SO BLONDE
Well, this is just the kinda of game that i can see myself making one! (If ever...that is..ahhaha)
I love this game, i consider it as one of the best game ever made!
My total satisfaction is 95%
Type: point and click 3rd person adventure
Then what is so good about this game?
First, they got a superb story line, although the game is cartoonish style, it is done with beautiful colors and nice composition.
The story line design is great because unlike some adventure games where the designer actually hoping us to guess the whole story line and what the character wanted to do next, in The Blonde, Sunny, the main character will actually speak out whatever she had in mind after she is done with a certain task. So i know what i have got to do next without exploring the whole scene like an idiot and trying to click each item one by one.
Also, if you are patient enough, you do not have to consult a walkthrough because mostly the story will continue on by talking to the other character inside the game. It's just that some of the area is not shown on the screen unless you go to that part by walking to the left or right, and sometimes the person or item that you need to talk to is right there.
But mostly, the person or key items are not scattered in random places, but instead it is almost in the same place, if you are stuck...like the crossroad, where you mostly will bump into someone, or the big pirate ship of morgane, or the inn...
The environment are beautiful i tell you! It is breathtaking! The colors are so beautiful! Very much well done indeed!
The characters are also made beautifully with a personality. The main character, Sunny, is not just some walking blonde without any standout personality, but she is the kind of girl who is loud and brave, smart, adventurous, never afraid to try something new, kind hearted, and do not hold grudges. I like this Sunny girl.
The other characters also has their own stand out personality,
What catches me though, is their voice, Sunny has a great voice, great vocal talent, but i can hear a lot of different character with the same voice! They should hire more vocal talent to fill in those different character. Maybe you can fill in like 2 character with the same voice, but if it is up to 4 ? or 5? We, the plavers, are not stupid you know...
The music are great, i love it, it is not stressing me out, and does not make me feel sleepy either, it is just right, a cheerful kind of music. Just right for the game.
And also what confuses me is some of the things that i gather inside the inventory came out to be useless until the end of the game...?So i kinda wonder..why i take this for? Hmm...maybe there are some task in the game that i can use different objects to finish. And since i took both objects, one were used and the other were kept inside the inventory as useless object.
They also have mini games with autowin feature, meaning that i can choose whichever mini games i wanted to play, and the mini games are interesting, not boring or puzzling difficult. Whenever Sunny talks, there is a mini picture of her showing her emotion or mood, is she angry, sad, happy? I think this is a brilliant idea, you might not notice this as important, but this is actually one of the key to make the character looks alive! Because We cannot see Sunny's expression clearly, near or far, unless she is in close up view, she will look like a walking barbie doll if there is no viewable emotion for us to see.
The design of this whole game is super great! Especially how they open up to new areas and characters as the chapters go up, so in each new chapter, i am introduced to new areas and characters, while i can still visit the old areas and characters! How interesting could it be? I never get bored playing this game and i cannot move my ass from my computer chair!
This is a must buy game, although it might not be suitable for guys who is brute and hardcore..talking about guys and their love for war, i am kinda disappointed lately, i went to this game company in Shanghai, they are new and they wanted to buy an online game from Korea developer and market it in China and perhaps USA or Europe, i went there, and what made me disappointed was how the guys were looking down on me, as if, aww..you are just a cute little lady, you know nothing about gaming more than i do!
I feel like kicking his balls. I bet he thinks that only guys knows what a computer game is!
And sadly enough in the Shanghai market, there are 90% fake games and 10% original games which are made by ubisoft and in chinese language. And those fake games, 90% are war, online or rpg (boys games), and 10% simulation, tycoon, strategy or adventure. Not only that, most of the games ARE OLD. But guess what, the sellers have NO IDEA whatsoever that the games they are selling are like 10 years ago kind of games! When i mentioned this to them, they looked at me as if i am crazy and said, this game just came out a week ago!
Duh! They 'came' out a week ago from whoever copied it a week ago for you! But this game itself was out from the studio to the market like 10 years ago!
Cough cough...back to So Blonde..., I found some bugs inside the game, some of the named object cannot be 'looked at' or 'interacted with' (while actually they can because there is a name/title under it) because the position is too close with other object and this other object is blocking it from the player so i cannot choose the object at all. It stressed me a little because i was afraid that it is the key object! But i guess it is not, maybe that's why they did not bother to fix it...
Also almost at the end of the game, i went to search for miss Brown because i found her cat, she was not in her office, so i tried to pick up the appointment book which she used to forbid me from taking, and to my surprise, i heard her voice although she was not there....she was not hiding somewhere, it was a bug....
The game has 4 different endings, and i like 2 of them, i am not gonna tell you, hehehe, you decide!
So, if you ever see The Blonde, do not miss it! Because other than that tiny little bug, this game is worth it !
Note: There is also So Blonde: Back to the island, a new story for So Blonde for Nitendo DS and Wii console(so far)
